Is Old Things Passed Away?

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. — Galatians 5:24

When we became Christians, we died to the old person of sin and were raised up a new person. While we have many of the same battles with temptation, we also now have the power of the resurrection and the Holy Spirit at work within us to help us.

The Greatness of Love

. It is the fulfilment of law – Romans 13:10

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

. It binds together in unity – Colossians 3:14

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

. It never fails – 1 Corinthians 13:8

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies,  they will cease; where there are tongues,  they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

. It is greater than faith and hope – 1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

Questions in Prayer 

. Should we pray in public? – Acts 1:14

They all joined together constantly in prayer,  along with the women  and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

.  What should we continue in? – Acts 2:42

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching  and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread  and to prayer

.  How did the first Christian martyr die? – Acts 7:60

Then he fell on his knees  and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”  When he had said this, he fell asleep.
