Caring for the God’s servants

In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel. — 1 Corinthians 9:14

One of the great tragedies of our modern world is that while some who preach and teach the gospel are charlatans and cheats, the vast majority of God's servants work just barely scraping by financially. Why not find some underpaid and forgotten Kingdom servant and share a little of the blessings God has given you?

Questions in Prayer

1] In whose name are we to pray? – John 16:23

In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

2] How can we keep from temptation – Luke 22:40

On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”

3] How did He pray in the garden of Gethsemane? – Luke 22:42-45

Father, if you are willing, take this cup  from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”    An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.    And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow.

Warning Against the Teachers of the Law

Mark 12:38-40

As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces,   and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.    They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

Thought

. We bless God our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gathers together in one the children of God that are scattered abroad.  We are divided from one another not only in matters of faith, order, and tradition, but also by pride of nation, class, and race.  But Christ has made us one, and He is not divided.  In seeking Him we find one another. - First Assembly of the World Council of Churches
