Crown of Glory (The Preacher’s Crown)
1 Peter 5:1-4
1 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a
witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be
revealed:
2 Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care,
serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God
wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve;
3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples
to the flock.
4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the
crown of glory that will never fade away.
Crown of Righteousness
2 Timothy 4:8
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only
to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Crown of Rejoicing (Soul winner’s Crown)
1 Thessalonians 2:19-20
19 For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we
will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?
20 Indeed, you are our glory and joy.
Prayer Quotations
“One day George Mueller began praying for five of his
friends. After many months, one of them came to the Lord. Ten years later, two
others were converted. It took 25 years before the fourth man was saved.
Mueller persevered in prayer until his death for the fifth friend, and
throughout those 52 years he never gave up hoping that he would accept Christ!
His faith was rewarded, for soon after Mueller’s funeral the last one was
saved.”
On persevering prayer: "I look at a stone cutter
hammering away at a rock a hundred times without so much as a crack showing in
it. Yet at the 101st blow it splits in
two. I know it was not the one blow that
did it, but all that had gone before."
