Matthew 3:15
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do
this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of
righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the
kingdom of heaven.

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he
will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory.
Matthew 21:32
For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness,
and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did.
And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
Matthew 23:23
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you
hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cummin. But you have
neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and
faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
Matthew 23:28
In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as
righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
