Foxes
Luke 9:58
Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have
nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
Friends
Luke 11:5-8
5 Then he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and
he goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I
have nothing to set before him.’
7 “Then the one inside answers, ‘Don't bother me. The door is
already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you
anything.’
8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the
bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get
up and give him as much as he needs.
Frugality
John 6:12
When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his
disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”
Fruitfulness
Matthew 13:23
But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is
the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a
hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Fruitlessness
Luke 13:6-9
6 Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree, planted
in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any.
7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For
three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't
found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year,
and I'll dig around it and fertilize it.
9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it
down.’”
