Make shipwreck of faith
1 Timothy 1:9
We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for
lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for
those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
Neglect salvation and fail to escape wrath
Hebrews 2:1-3
1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we
have heard, so that we do not drift away.
2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every
violation and disobedience received its just punishment,
3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?
This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by
those who heard him.
Be renewed after backsliding
Psalms 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast
spirit within me.
Depart from faith
1 Timothy 4:1
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon
the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
Depart from inequity
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with
this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who
confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
Depart from God
2 Samuel 22:22
For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not done evil by
turning from my God.
Hosea 1:2
When the LORD began to speak through Hosea, the LORD said to
him, “Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness,
because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD.”
