“He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.”
Several great truths are taught us in the opening chapters of the Bible.
First, we are made in God's image, both male and female.
Second, we are made to be different (male and female).
Third, we are made to bless each other and be complements of one another.
Fourth, a husband and wife were made to leave their families of origin and build their lives together (Gen. 1:26-2:25). To find a spouse for life, one created by God in his image, is to find what is truly good and what God truly desires. – Proverbs 18:22
Evangelism
"I should like to allude to a few points in the character of Mr. Hudson Taylor which impressed me personally, and which I think had something to do with the blessing that God granted to his efforts on behalf of this country (China). First his prayerfulness; he was of necessity a busy man, but he always regarded prayer itself as in reality the most needful and important part of the work. He practically recognized that much time must be spent in seeking God's guidance, if a right understanding was to be obtained of the problems and difficulties that confronted him, in carrying on the work of the Mission.
He knew that in no other way was the power of the Holy Spirit to be obtained for himself and his brethren, as they sought to develop the work. I venture on this occasion, not only to impress upon myself, but upon you as well, the importance of our copying him in this respect." - D. E. Hoste
