A Prayer for Hope
beyond Unfairness
Dear Lord, find within us a yielded and quiet spirit of
submission. To make that happen, we need You to come in like a flood. Occupy us
as water finding empty spaces. Occupy reserved portions of our lives where
anger is festering and the secret places where grudges are being stored. Sweep
through our house…don’t miss one room or a single area—cleanse every dark
closet, look under every rug. Let nothing go unnoticed as You take full control
of our motives as well as our actions. Deep within our hearts we pray that You
would sweep us clean of blame and revenge, of self-pity and keeping score.
Enable each one of us to be big enough to press on regardless scars of ugly
treatment and harsh words. Forgiveness comes hard…but it’s essential. Help us
forgive even those who never acknowledge their wronging and hurting us! Give us
peace in place of turmoil and erase the memories that keep us offended. We need
fresh hope go on!
I ask this in the name of Him who had no sin and did no
wrong, but died the just for unjust: Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Biblical Financial
Principles
God owns everything.
Scripture: Psalm 50: 7-15
Key verse – 10 “Every animal of the forest is mine and the
cattle on a thousand hills”.
To obey is better than sacrifice, and to love God and our
neighbor better than all burnt-offerings. We are here warned not to rest in
these performances. And let us beware of resting in any form. God demands the
heart, and how can human inventions please him, when repentance, faith, and
holiness are neglected? In the day of distress we must apply to the Lord by
fervent prayer. Our troubles, though we see them coming from God's hand, must
drive us to him, not drive us from him.
We must acknowledge him in all our ways, depend upon his
wisdom, power, and goodness, and refer ourselves wholly to him, and so give him
glory. Thus must we keep up communion with God; meeting him with prayers under
trials, and with praises in deliverances. A believing supplicant shall not only
be graciously answered as to his petition, and so have cause for praising God,
but shall also have grace to praise him.
