18 – Anger
Matthew 5:22
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will
be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ is
answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger
of the fire of hell.
19 – Anxiety
Luke 12:22-31
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you,
do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you
will wear.
23 Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no
storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than
birds!
25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you
worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of
these.
28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will
he clothe you, O you of little faith!
29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink;
do not worry about it.
30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your
Father knows that you need them.
31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to
you as well.
20 – Apostasy
Matthew 13:18-22
18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does
not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his
heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
20 The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is
the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
21 But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When
trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
22 The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns
is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the
deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.
Luke 8:13
Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy
when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the
time of testing they fall away.
