Handling Disputes

The time to stop a dispute is when it begins:

Proverbs 17:14

The beginning of strife is like releasing water; Therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts.
As much as possible, do not let arguments get started:

Proverbs 20:3

It is honorable for a man to stop striving. Since any fool can start a quarrel.

Some people contribute to peace:

Proverbs 12:20

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil. But counselors of peace have joy.
Others contribute to war:

Proverbs 22:10

Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave; yes, strife and reproach will cease.
There are some people that nobody can get along with:

Proverbs 29:9

If a wise man contends with a foolish man. Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.
God blesses the peacemakers.

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
