What is your menu?
There are two possible menus from which we can choose to fill
our empty souls. Satan’s menu is long and full of enticing things that seem to
promise fulfillment and pleasure. These could include relationships, prominence,
acceptance, riches, or recognition. Whatever he offers looks like the good life
that will bring contentment, but it’s a deception. But God’s menu is quite
small. In fact, it lists just one “item”—Jesus. He is the only one who can fill
the void.
Quote:
Thankfully, the Lord treats all of us alike, and He wants us
to treat each other the same way. —Julie Ackerman Link
Bribery displays partiality; love displays justice.
Quote:
The divine art of miracle is not an art of suspending the
pattern to which events conform, but of feeding new events into that pattern. …..C. S. Lewis
Stay close to…
When life gets difficult and we get frazzled, staying close
to our Christian friends will help us to get through. —Anne Cetas
Staying close to godly friends helps us to stay close to God.
Jesus is personal
Jesus doesn’t keep you at a distance, thinking of you as just
another standard, typical, “templated” believer. He lives in you and guides
you, and you access his power through faith: “I have been crucified with Christ;
and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I
now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
Himself up for me.” (Galatians 2:20 NASB)
Evangelism
"A minister, who prays not, who is not in love with
prayer, is not a minister of the Church of God. He is a dry tree, which
occupies in vain a place in Christ's garden. He is an enemy, and not a father,
of the people. He is a stranger, who has taken the place of the shepherd, and
to whom the salvation of the flock is an indifferent thing." – Thomas Coke
