Questions in Genesis

Why is thy countenance fallen?

Genesis 4:6  

Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?

Genesis 4:7  

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”

Questions in Exodus

Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

Exodus 1:18  

Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?”

Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child?

Exodus 2:7  

Then his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?”

Questions in Numbers

Wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the Lord in His appointed season among the children of Israel?

He asked the LORD, “Why have you brought this trouble on your servant? What have I done to displease you that you put the burden of all these people on me?

Who shall give us flesh to eat?

Numbers 11:4  

The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, “If only we had meat to eat!
