Gifts of the Holy
Spirit
1 John 4:1
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the
spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone
out into the world.
Romans 12:6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If
a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do
not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
with groans that words cannot express.
Ephesians 4:16
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every
supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its
work.
Ephesians 4:11
It was he, who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets,
some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
1 Corinthians 14:39
Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not
forbid speaking in tongues.
1
Corinthians 12:31
But eagerly
desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
1 Corinthians 12:1
Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be
ignorant.
Acts 8:6
When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he
did, they all paid close attention to what he said.
Evangelism:
Jesus started where people were at their level of
commitment—but he never left them there.
"Revival will call for much love and humility, because
it may please God to use one man more extensively than another. The fleece of one denomination may appear to
be wet with the dews of heaven while another is only damp with it. In some cases God may use the least gifted of
men - at least some would so judge them - and in the least likely of churches
find a channel for His grace. May God
preserve us from a spirit which would prefer to see no revival at all if it did
not come in our form, after our pattern, and through our instrumentality."
