Sin – Not believing Jesus

John 16:9

sin, because they do not believe in Me;

Nehemiah 12:30

When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people, the gates and the wall. —

God has placed each of us in a circle of influence. Before we try to "clean up" those around us, let's first offer ourselves to God to be consecrated and to be made pure by his grace. Then, let's live in a way that shows the impact of that holiness in our lives. Jesus told us to remove the plank from our own eye before we try to clean the speck out of someone else's eye. For leaders at any level, "living holy" is essential before calling others to holiness! God's greatest times of spiritual renewal begin when leaders first consecrate themselves to God and his work.

'A Living Sacrifice' - Romans 12:1-2

Dear Father, all worthy God,

I present my body to you, O Lord, as a living sacrifice. May it be holy and pleasing to you.
Let this be my spiritual act of worship, not done at set times of remembrance, but constantly, moment by moment, day by day, night by night.

Let me not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, which is doomed to pass away. Instead, let me be transformed by the renewing of my mind, so that I may be able to test and approve what your holy will for me is - what is good, pleasing, and perfect.

By the authority of Jesus and in his name I ask for this growth in grace. Amen.

. God will often use the desert of quiet faithful service, or the prison of injustice, to permanently transform our self-confidence into Christ-confidence.  It is only when control is out of our own hands and we are thrust blindly into God’s arms that He is free to teach us that He can be completely relied upon. - Tim Burns
