[Reasons to Believe the Bible]
Over the years, various governments and leaders have tried in vain to destroy the Bible, or at least restrict access to it. And yet this polarizing—and well-loved—book keeps circulating and winning hearts for Christ.
The Bible truly is the most amazing book ever written because it comes directly from God. Not only does it accurately predict the future; it also has the power to save sinners and transform them into saints.
Deuteronomy 3:27b-28
“Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan. But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see.”
Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt and in the wilderness, but did not get to enter into the Promised Land because of his sin. Yet, for all those years, Moses nurtured and prepared the person who would do what he could not do.
That person was Joshua. Who are you training, molding, encouraging, motivating, and calling to do what you won't be able to do? What successor will take your dreams farther than you can? Who is your Joshua?
Characteristics of God’s Word
Eternal – Psalm 119:89
Your word, Lord, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens.
Inspired – 2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Thoughts
. "For God to explain a trial would be to destroy its purpose, calling forth simple faith and implicit obedience." - Alfred Edersheim
. "Whatsoever we beg of God, let us also work for it." - Jeremy Taylor
