In understanding our calling
Philippians 3:12-16
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already
been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus
took hold of me.
13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold
of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what
is ahead,
14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God
has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of
things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make
clear to you.
16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
God's Word
Whoever loses his life
Matthew 10:37-39
37 “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not
worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy
of me;
38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is
not worthy of me.
39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his
life for my sake will find it.
Peril
Romans 8:35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble
or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
Lust
Proverbs 6:25
Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her
captivate you with her eyes,
