To remember their Creator:
Ecclesiastes 12:1
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the
days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no
pleasure in them”—
To fear Jehovah:
Proverbs 24:21
Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with the
rebellious,
To obey God:
Deuteronomy 30:2
And when you and your children return to the LORD your God
and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything
I command you today,
To hear the instruction of their parents:
Proverbs 1:8-9
8 Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not
forsake your mother's teaching.
9 They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to
adorn your neck.
To respect those who bore them:
Ephesians 6:2
“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment
with a promise—
Hebrews 12:9
Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us
and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of
our spirits and live!
To keep their commandments:
Proverbs 6:20
My son, keep your father's commands and do not forsake your
mother's teaching.
Ephesians 6:1
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Ephesians 3:20
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we
ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
To care for those who bore them:
