The secret place
Psalms 91:1
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in
the shadow of the Almighty.
Christ
John 5:1-7
1 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a feast of
the Jews.
2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which
in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered
colonnades.
3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the
blind, the lame, the paralyzed.
4
5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight
years.
6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been
in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into
the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else
goes down ahead of me.”
1 John 2:24-28
24 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in
you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
25 And this is what he promised us—even eternal life.
26 I am writing these things to you about those who are
trying to lead you astray.
27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in
you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you
about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has
taught you, remain in him.
28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he
appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
The love of Christ
John 15:10
If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as
I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
One’s own calling
1 Corinthians 7:20
Each one should remain in the situation which he was in when
God called him.
