James 1:1-8
• To know the Lord as Comforter means we must be in need of consolation, due to suffering or discouragement.
• To discover that God is our strength, we must experience weakness and come to the end of our ability to persevere.
• Our Father’s faithfulness becomes evident when others prove unfaithful.
• God’s wisdom is recognized when the world’s wisdom lets us down and all our own maneuvering fails.
• Divine trustworthiness shines brighter when those around us are unreliable.
Questions in 1st Corinthians
9:11
If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things?
9:12
If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more?
Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.
9:13
Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar?
John 2:5-6
This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
Do you want to know who walks with Jesus each day? Look for folks whose lives look like his! Do you want to walk with Jesus? Look at his life in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). See how he treated people; then do the same!
Notice how he defeated Satan and overcame temptation. Trust that you can do the same! As you do these things, you will find that Jesus is not only walking with you, he is also working through you!
