A Tiny Seed, a Tiny Deed

The Bible says, “Do not despise small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin!”

I see what others have done with their lives and before I even get started—I’m discouraged. What can I possibly do that God isn’t already doing through someone else?

Against a towering giant, a brook pebble seems futile. But God used it to topple Goliath. Compared to the tithes of the wealthy, a widow’s coins seem puny. But Jesus used them to inspire us all! Moses had a staff. David had a sling. Samson had a jawbone. Rahab had a string. Mary had some ointment. Dorcas had a needle. All were used by God.

What do you have? Much more than you might think!  God inhabits the tiny seed. He empowers the tiny deed! Never discount the smallness of your deeds!

Don’t Leave Feeling Unforgiven

If only I could believe God’s forgiveness. How can it be? If He truly knows all about me—why would He ever forgive me?

To believe we are totally and eternally debt free is seldom easy. We doubt! And as a result, many are forgiven only a little—not because the grace of God is limited—but because the faith of the sinner is small. God is willing to forgive all! He is willing to wipe the slate clean! God invites you into a pool of mercy and invites you to bathe. Plunge in! Don’t just touch the surface! Don’t leave or live feeling unforgiven.

Where the grace of God is embraced, forgiveness flourishes! And what you’ll discover is—the more you immerse yourself in grace, the more likely you are to give grace!

God’s Blessings.

God has blessed us so much in Jesus. Yet God longs to bless us even more. Why? God longs to bless us because…he is a generous God… because he is our loving Father…because that his nature… because he wants us to be like him!

God blesses us to be a blessing to others!

The Seven “I AM” Statements of Jesus.

John 6-15

1. I AM the bread of life. 6:35,48

2. I AM the light of the world. 8:12, 9:5

3. I AM the gate. 10:7

4. I AM the good shepherd. 10:11,14

5. I AM the resurrection and the life. 11:25

6. I AM the way and the truth and the life. 14:6

7. I AM the true vine. 15:15

Don’t go there.

John 8:32

You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

You must do something similar regarding the painful experience from your past. Refuse to go back there emotionally; refuse to dredge up negative emotional memories. They will do you no good; in fact, strongly felt negative emotions hold the potential to severely stifle your progress.

Think of it like this: Every person has two main files in his or her memory system. The first is the file filled with all the good things that have happened to us. It’s full of our victories and accomplishments, all the things that have bought us joy and happiness through the years.
The second file is just the opposite. It’s filled with the hurts and pains of the past, all the negative things that gave happened to us. It’s full of our defeats and failures, things that brought us sadness and sorrow. Throughout life, we can choose which file we will access. Some people repeatedly return to file number two and relive the painful things that have happened to them. They’re always thinking about the times somebody did them wrong, the times they were hurt or suffered awful pain. They practically wear out file number two. They’re so preoccupied with the negative things; they never get around to exploring file number one. They hardly think about the good things that have happened to them.
If you want to be free, if you want to overcome self-pity, throw away the key to file number two. Don’t go back there anymore. Keep your mind focused on the good things God has done in your life.

Evangelism

He is not seeking a powerful people to represent HIM. Rather, He looks for all those who are weak, foolish, despised, and written off: and He inhabits them with His own strength.
I don't know how your theology works, but if Jesus has a choice between stained glass windows and feeding starving kids in Haiti, I have a feeling he'd choose the starving kids in Haiti.

Prayer:

Dear God, I’m scared, but I want to get to know you. I don’t understand it all, but I thank you that you love me. I thank you that you’re with me even when I didn’t recognize it. I thank you that you are for me; that you didn’t send Jesus to condemn me but to save me.

I admit I never even realized I needed a Savior, but today I want to receive the Christmas gift of your Son. I ask you to save me from my past, my regrets, my mistakes, my sins, my habits, my hurts, and my hang-ups. Save me from myself.

I ask you to save me for your purpose. I want to know why you put me on this planet. And I want to fulfill what you made me to do. I want to learn to love you and trust you and have a relationship with you.

I need peace with you, God, and I need you to put your peace in my heart. I need you to take away the stress and fill me with your love. Help me be a peacemaker, to help others find peace with you and each other. In your name I pray, amen.

Christian Life.

And if you take the Christian life one day at a time, one step at a time, and go from one answered prayer request to another, from one time of Sunday fellowship to another, from one blessing of God to another, one good Christian friend to another, one prayer partner to another. When you go from strength to strength, you will look back over your life and be amazed that you have come so far.

In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Paul echoes this verse here when he writes, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.” He knew that wherever he went, whatever he did and said, would all be assessed when he stood before Christ, and he kept laboring, kept serving, kept striving, kept running, because he wanted to be bold and confident and unashamed before Christ at His coming.

Bible - Proverbs 3:3-4

Let love and Faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Quote.

The Church is never a place to show off. Do your good deeds quietly. Serve; don’t seek to be seen.

Escape Route.

For sins only the escape route is JESUS CHRIST.

Loving Them.

God our Father who is rich in mercy and full of compassion. He waited with open arms for His prodigal son to come home and then ran to meet him with a heart of love. God does the same today. Our Father longs for us to come running to Him, confessing our sinfulness, and asking for mercy.

Once a little girl named, Nan, writes this letter: “Dear God I bet it is very hard for you to love all of everybody in the whole world.

There are only four people in our family and I have trouble loving them!

Motivation.

The biggest sources of motivation are your own thoughts, so think big and motivate yourself to win, and make your better the BEST.

Best.

Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best.

It takes energy, mental toughness and spiritual reinforcement to successfully deal with life’s opportunities, and to teach your objectives

Who is packing your parachute?

Air Commander Vishal was a Jet Pilot. In a combat mission his fighter plane was destroyed by a missile. He however ejected himself and parachuted safely. He won acclaims and appreciations from many.

After five years one day he was sitting with his wife in a restaurant. A man from another table came to him and said “You’re Captain Vishal! You flew jet fighters. You were shot down!”

“How in the world did you know that? Asked Vishal.

“I packed your parachute,” the man smiled and replied. Vishal gasped in surprise and gratitude and thought if parachute hadn’t worked, I wouldn’t be here today.

Vishal couldn’t sleep that night, thinking about that man.  He wondered how many times I might have seen him and not even said ‘Good morning, how are you?’ or anything because, he was a fighter pilot and that person was just a safety worker”

So friends, who is packing you parachute?

Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day. We need the  many kinds of parachutes - we need the physical parachute, the mental parachute, the emotional parachute, and the spiritual parachute. We call on all these supports before reaching safety.

Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important.

We may fail to say hello, please or thank you, congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason.

As you go through this week, this month, this year, recognize the people who pack your parachute.

Life

Life is not about finding the right person, but creating the right relationship. It’s not how we care in the beginning, but how much we care till the very end.

Thoughts

. Worship is a heart overflowing with praise to God.

. We are shaped and fashioned by what we love most.

. Gratitude to God leads to growth in godliness.

. Only Jesus’ death could purchase our freedom.

. We sow the seed—God produces the harvest.

. True thanksgiving emphasizes the Giver rather than the gifts.

. We can accomplish more together than we can alone.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY READERS.

They Never Heard of Christmas

Why have we not heard of Christmas? Why have you denied us light; we who long groped in darkness chained by sorrow, sin and night?

Will you still deny us Christmas? Will we still reach out in vain? Can it be that we must perish never having heard that name?

Hear the words of hopeless millions, dying where no light has been: “Won’t you share this Christ of Christmas. Let Him save us from our sin?

Friends,

Today, as we are all happily celebrating the Christmas - Multitudes who are in the depths of darkness have to be reached. Whole nations are in spiritual graves. Somebody has to go down and do the job.

Quote:

God gave you 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say “THANK YOU?”

Two Words.

Two words that can change the way we approach our life. “CAN I? Or “I CAN”
Think and choose the right option and create a difference in your life.

Life & Kneel.

When life gets too hard to stand, Kneel.

The Five W’s of Life.

Who you are is what makes you special. Do not change for anyone.

What lies ahead will always be a mystery. Do not be afraid to explore.

When life pushes you over, you push back harder.

Where there are choices to make, make the one you won’t regret.

Why things happen will never be certain. Take it in stride and move forward.

Encouragement and God’s Promises

John 11:25-26

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

John 1:9

9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

Romans 8:18-28

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
23 Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning’s which cannot be uttered.
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s Word

God’s word saves many functions in our daily Christian walk. It is necessary for spiritual growth, living free from sin, and living the abundant life God intended for us.

It provides wisdom, strength, and comfort to face the challenges we meet every day. It corrects, admonishes, and disciplines us when we fall short; then it helps us to receive God’s forgiveness and restoration.

The Value of Hope

Hope keeps us moving forward. I cannot imagine my life without hope. Hope fuels us to face impossible challenges. Hope is the expectation that we will obtain what we desire. Hope is a special gift from God in the day to day monotony and in the middle of difficult circumstances. Hope encourages us to keep running the race until we reach the finish line.

The Greatness of Love

We couldn't live our lives without faith or hope. Without faith we cannot know the God of love. Without hope we would not endure in our faith until we meet him face to face. But in spite of the importance of faith and hope, love is even more crucial.

Why is love the greatest? Because without love, there would be no redemption. God is love (1 John 4:8), and he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. To sacrifice his life for us. This is the epitome of love. Thus, love is the virtue upon which all of our faith and hope now stand.

The Value of Faith

The value of faith cannot be disputed. In fact, Hebrews 11:6 states, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God, must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (NKJV) Without faith, we couldn't come to Christ, and without faith, we couldn't walk in obedience to him. Faith often motivates us to move forward even when the odds are against us. In a sense faith is closely related to hope.

Faith Quotes

 “Fear tolerated is faith contaminated.”

“Never dig up in unbelief what you have sown in faith.”

“I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Ghost has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith.”

Thoughts

. Courage is fear that has said its prayers.

. As we have opportunity, let us do good to all. —Galatians 6:10

. God’s hand of discipline is a hand of love.

. A daily dose of God’s wisdom will heal the heart disease of envy.

. As we trust God to rule our hearts our feet can walk His way.

. We don’t get closer to God by passing judgment on others.

Characteristics of a Godly man

1. STEP UP: Lead. Initiate. Be a man of action. Assume it is your job and your moment. Hate apathy. Reject passivity.  - Ezekiel 22:30

2. SPEAK OUT: Silence in the midst of sin is a sin. Be courageous. Fear God not man. Speak the truth in love. - 1 Peter 3:15

3. STAND STRONG: Don’t give in when you are challenged, attacked or criticized. - 1 Cor 15:58

4. STAY HUMBLE: Be vigilant against pride. Get the log out of your eye. Don’t think less of yourself, think of yourself less. - Psalm 141:5

5. SERVE THE KING: Seek first His Kingdom, His glory, His righteousness. Hope in the eternal. Live for a greater reward. -  Matthew 6:33

Thoughts

Looking for Christ’s return makes a difference in your life.

To feel good about yourself, do what pleases God.

A bite of sin leaves a bitter aftertaste.

The highest motive for serving God is the desire to please Him.

A friend of God will be a stranger to the world.

To love God is to obey God.

JESUS

+ Ps. 39:30 “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.”

+ According to the scriptures, the Devil is small enough to fit under our feet and God is big enough to fill both heaven and earth.

Together

Coming together is a beginning

Keeping together is a progress

Working together is a success.

Christmas

Christmas is the Spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. it is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.

SIN.

Sin is something we don’t like to talk about unless it is someone else’s sin. We don’t like to talk about our sin and even acknowledge it, but we must if we are going to be what God wants us to be.

A little bit…

Long ago, I learned a very important spiritual principle that Jesus taught His disciples in a dramatic, miraculous way on a hillside beside the Sea of Galilee. The disciples had been under a lot of pressure. They had slipped in the hill country with Jesus, hoping for a time of retreat. Instead, five thousand people showed up, wanting Jesus to heal and teach them—which he graciously did. None of the five thousand had eaten all day long—and most had not brought any provision for a meal.

The disciples wanted to send them away since they had no food, either. But Jesus told His disciples to feed them—an impossible task. However, Andrew was resourceful enough to find a little boy with five loaves and two fish—which seemed totally inadequate for the need at hand. And it was totally inadequate! That little bit of food was less than nothing when compared to more than five thousand hungry people! But it was all the little boy and the disciples had to give. Jesus took it, and blessed it, and broke it, and handed it back to the disciples—and they passed it out, and continued passing it out, until all five thousand people were fed to the full!

The point Jesus got across to His disciples was that it didn’t matter if they only had little bit—a little bit….

Of time, of money, of education, of ability, of knowledge of strength, of resources….

What mattered was that they gave all that they had to Jesus. Then He would make it
enough.

Would you give to Jesus all of your words,

Your conversations,

Your thoughts,

Your knowledge,

Your convictions,

Your courage?

And ask Him to bless it and make it enough to impact the lives of others? The difference between a little bit and enough is the Holy Spirit. And it’s the Holy Spirit who will fill you with such deep conviction, passion, and zeal for the truth that you will be compelled to speak up!

Achievement

Worldliness

Which disturbs you most?

A Soul in hell or your business?

Your missing worship service or your missing a day’s work?

A sermon 10 minutes too long or lunch half hour late?

A church no growing or your garden not growing?

Your Bible unopened or your newspaper unread?

The church work neglected or house work neglected?

Missing good Bible study or Television Program?

.

Your children late for Sunday school or for school?

Evangelism

If not you and me, who else? If not here now, where and how?

Thought:

Love, Relationship & Friendship goes everywhere, whether it is invited or uninvited. But it stays only there, where it is well treated & respected!!

Want to keep Christ in Christmas?

Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the unwanted, care for the ill, love your enemies, and do unto others as you would have done unto you.

Repentance

Luke 13:5

“I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Success

Success has only one amazing formula, stop thinking in terms of limitations. And start thinking in terms of possibilities.

A Beautiful Thought:

Your kindness may be treated as your weakness, - “Still Be Kind.”

Your help to others may go unneeded & unnoticed, - “Still Be Kind.”

Your help to others may go unneeded & Unnoticed, - “Still Be Helpful.”

If you are Honest & Frank, people may cheat you, - “Still Be Honest.”

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow, - “Do Good Anyways.”

Wrath of God

God’s Wrath is upon unbelievers and the ungodly:

Evidenced by God’s opposition to all unrighteousness and ungodliness:

Romans 1:18

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

It is upon unbelievers now:

John 3:36

36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

It is upon the children of disobedience:

Ephesians 5:6

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Colossians 3:6

6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,

Romans 2:5

5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Upon disobedient Jews to the uttermost:

1 Thessalonians 2:16

16 forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

Thoughts:

Our greatest needs cannot exceed God’s great resources.

While Satan accuses and confuses, God controls.

Letter to God.

A Sunday school teacher challenged her children to some time on Sunday afternoon to write a letter to God. They were to bring their letter back the following Sunday.
One little boy wrote, “Dear God, we had a good time at Church today. Wish you could have been there.”
