1 Peter 3:18-22
18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for
the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made
alive by the Spirit,
19 through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in
prison
20 who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the
days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in
all, were saved through water,
21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you
also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience
toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand—with
angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.
Isaiah 45:22
“Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am
God, and there is no other.
John 20:19-24
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the
disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came
and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The
disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has
sent me, I am sending you.”
22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the
Holy Spirit.
23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you
do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not
with the disciples when Jesus came.
John 8:24
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not
believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.”
Ezekiel 3:17-19
17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of
Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
18 When I say to a wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and you
do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to
save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you
accountable for his blood.
19 But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn
from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you
will have saved yourself.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us.
