Paul’s authority and
commendation were from God, not man
2 Corinthians 3:1-5
1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need,
like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you?
2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known
and read by everybody.
3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of
our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not
on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
4 Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God.
5 Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything
for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.
Romans 15:18-19
18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ
has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have
said and done—
19 by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of
the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully
proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
Acts 19:11-12
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,
12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him
were taken to the sick and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left
them.
