Pride
Esther 6:6

be done for the man the king delights to honor?” Now Haman thought to himself,
“Who is there that the king would rather honor than me?”
Psalms 10:4
In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his
thoughts there is no room for God.
Evil imaginations
Job 21:27

2 Corinthians 10:4-7
4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the
world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to
make it obedient to Christ.
6 And we will be ready to punish every act of
disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
7 You are looking only on the surface of things. If
anyone is confident that he belongs to Christ, he should consider again that we
belong to Christ just as much as he.
False Security
Psalms 49:11
Their tombs will remain their houses forever, their
dwellings for endless generations, though they had named lands after
themselves.
Vanity
Psalms 94:11
The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they
are futile.
Psalms 119:113
I hate double-minded men, but I love your law.
Jeremiah 4:14
O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart and be
saved. How long will you harbor wicked thoughts?
