Breastplate
Isaiah 59:17
He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of
salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself
in zeal as in a cloak.
Ephesians 6:14-17
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around
your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes
from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with
which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
1 Thessalonians 5:8
But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled,
putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a
helmet.
Deliver
Isaiah 59:20-21
20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who
repent of their sins,” declares the LORD.
21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD.
“My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not
depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths
of their descendants from this time on and forever,” says the LORD.
Romans 11:26-27
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The deliverer
will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their
sins.”
Preaching
Isaiah 61:1-2
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD
has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness
for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of
vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
Luke 4:17-19
17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him.
Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed
me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
