They are freed from sin
Romans 6:18
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to
righteousness.
They are dead to sin
Romans 6:2
By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any
longer?
1 Peter 2:24
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we
might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been
healed.
They are unable to sin habitually
1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's
seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the
one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.
They continually confess their sins

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the
truth is not in us.

forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a
liar and his word has no place in our lives.
They are continually ashamed because of their sins
Romans 6:21
What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you
are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!
They separate themselves from
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with
this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who
confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
They must put to death sin in their life
Colossians 3:5
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly
nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is
idolatry.
They pray that their sins may be forgiven
Luke 11:4
Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins
against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”
