Preparation - Qualification - Providence
God called Moses because:
He heard
the people’s groaning
Exodus 2:24
God heard
their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with
Jacob.
He saw
their affliction
Exodus 3:7
The LORD
said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them
crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their
suffering.
He knew
their sorrows
Exodus 3:7
The LORD
said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them
crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their
suffering.
He was
mindful of his covenant
Exodus 2:24
God heard
their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with
Jacob.
Moses’ initial attempt to deliver
God’s people was a failure because:
All the
wisdom of Egypt was not enough to equip Moses for the work of God -
Acts 7:22
Moses was
educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and
action.
His attempt
to deliver God’s people was carried out in the impetuosity of the flesh and not
in God -
Acts 7:25
Moses
thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue
them, but they did not.
