Thanksgiving – for the supply of our bodily wants:
Romans 14:6-7
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and
he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that
eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not,
to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7 For none of us liveth to himself and no man dieth to
himself.
Thanksgiving – for all men:
Timothy 2:1
Exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
Thanksgiving – for all things:
2 Corinthians 9:11
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which
causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
Thanksgiving – should be accompanied by intercession for others:
1 Timothy 2:1
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
Thanksgiving – should always accompany prayer:
Colossians 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Thanksgiving – for wisdom and glowing health:
Daniel 2:23
I thank thee, and
praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and
hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made
known unto us the king's matter.
Thanksgiving – for the triumph of the gospel:
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in
Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.
