Luke 18:1-8
1 Then Jesus told his
disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
2 He said: “In a
certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.
3 And there was a
widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice
against my adversary.’
4 “For some time he
refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don't fear God or care
about men,
5 yet because this
widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't
eventually wear me out with her coming!’”
6 And the Lord said,
“Listen to what the unjust judge says.
7 And will not God
bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will
he keep putting them off?
8 I tell you, he will
see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes,
will he find faith on the earth?”
Luke 9:6
6 So they set out and
went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people
everywhere.
Luke 7:3-4
3 The centurion heard
of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal
his servant.
4 When they came to
Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this,
Matthew 21:22
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in
prayer.”
Matthew 18:15-17
15 “If your brother
sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he
listens to you, you have won your brother over.
16 But if he will not
listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established
by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’
17 If he refuses to
listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the
church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
