Be disciples only if they continue in the Word
John 8:31
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to
my teaching, you are really my disciples.
Continue in love of Christ, or discontinue at will
John 15:9
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain
in my love.
Continue in grace
Acts 13:43
When the congregation was dismissed, many of the Jews and
devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them and
urged them to continue in the grace of God.
Continue in grace OR fall from it
Galatians 1:6-8
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one
who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are
throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a
gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
Hebrews 12:15
See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no
bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
Continue in the faith
Acts 14:22
Strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain
true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of
God,” they said.
OR discontinue at will
1 Timothy 1:19
Holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected
these and so have shipwrecked their faith.
1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some
people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves
with many griefs.
