The fact and manner of the rapture of the Church and Old
Testament Saints:
Luke 21:34-36
24 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with
dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on
you unexpectedly like a trap.
35 For it will come upon all those who live on the face of
the whole earth.
36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to
escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before
the Son of Man.”
John 14:1-3
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust
also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back
and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
1 Corinthians 15:23
But each in his own turn: Christ, the first fruits; then,
when he comes, those who belong to him.
1 Corinthians 15:51-58
51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but
we will all be changed—
52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and
we will be changed.
53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the
imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
54 When the perishable has been clothed with the
imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written
will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your
sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the
law.
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move
you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know
that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
2 Corinthians 5:1=8
1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is
destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built
by human hands.
2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly
dwelling,
3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened,
because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly
dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
5 Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has
given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as
we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.
7 We live by faith, not by sight.
8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from
the body and at home with the Lord.
