The Book of Isaiah with New Testament Books…Part 5

Corner stone

Isaiah 28:16

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.

Romans 9:33

As it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

1 Peter 2:4-6

4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him—

5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6 For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

Slumber

Isaiah 29:10

The LORD has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes (the prophets); he has covered your heads (the seers).

Romans 11:8

as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day.”

Lip service

Isaiah 29:10

The LORD has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes (the prophets); he has covered your heads (the seers).

Matthew 15:7-9

7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

8 “‘these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’”

Mark 7:6-7

6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’
