Seeking God- God’s search for man.

The promises of God to those who seek him in:

1) He will not forsake them -

Psalms 9:10

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.

2) He will manifest his goodness to them –

Lamentations 3:25

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

3) He will preserve them –

Zephaniah 2:3

Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD's anger.

4) He will give help

2 Chronicles 20:4

The people of Judah came together to seek help from the LORD; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.

5) He will give rest from the oppression of the enemy –

2 Chronicles 14:7

“Let us build up these towns,” he said to Judah, “and put walls around them, with towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God; we sought him and he has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.

6) He will give deliverance from all fears of every kind –

Psalms 34:4

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

7) He will show mercy for past failings and be true to his covenant –

Deuteronomy 4:29-31

29 But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

30 When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him.

31 For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath.

8) He will grant understanding in God’s judgments –

Proverbs 28:5

Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it fully.
