Blessings of the Cross

The world is crucified to us

Galatians 6:14 - But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

One day Sadhu Sunder Singh preached in few villages then went to his home in Rampur. His father said, “You can stay here tonight; but you must get out early in the morning; don’t show me your face again!” his father made him to sit at a distance and gave water to drink by pouring it into his hands from a vessel held high. When Sundar Singh saw this “Untouchable treatment,” tears flowed from his eyes. Yet he did not complain. He thanked his father and went away carrying his cross for his Master!

The Attitude

Would Thomas Edison have invented the electric light bulb if he accepted failure after his 900th attempt?

They had the right attitude.

Journey in the Lent

He further said, “Anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27).

Is Christ the master of your life?

Have you put to death your own plans and committed yourself to His will for your life?
Don’t be satisfied with anything less, for there is no greater joy in life than following Christ every day.

Romans 6:3

Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Thoughts on This Verse....

More than an outward symbol, baptism is coming to the core of the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and sharing in it by grace (Romans 6:1-15). What an incredible blessing to be able to do what Jesus did at the beginning of his ministry to please God (Luke 3:21-22), and also know that through our faith in God's power to raise him from the dead, our lives can be joined with his until we can share fully in his glory! (Colossians 2:12; 3:1-4).
