It brings about shameful reproach
Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any
people.

It is known by the law
Romans 3:20
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing
the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Romans 7:7
What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not!
