OUR ABBA

Max Lucado

Of all his names, Father is God’s favorite. We know he loves this name most because this is the one he used most. While on earth, Jesus called God “Father” over two hundred times. In his first recorded words Jesus explained, “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house? (Luke 2:49). In his final triumphant prayer he proclaims. “Father, I give you my life” (Luke 23:46). In the Gospel of John alone, Jesus repeats this name 156 times. God loves to be called Father.

After all, didn’t Jesus teach us to begin our prayers with the phrase; “Our Father” reminds us we are welcome in God’s house because we have in God’s house because we have been adopted by the owner.

Wisdom

Peace with God and the peace of God in man’s heart and the joy of fellowship with Christ have in themselves a beneficial effect upon the body and mind, and will lead to the development and preservation of physical and mental power. Thus, Christ promotes the best interest of the body and mind as well as of the Spirit in addition to inward peace, the development of spiritual life, the joy and fellowship with Christ, and the new strength that came with being born again.

There are certain special privileges that only the true Christian can enjoy. There is, for example, the privilege of having divine wisdom and guidance continually.

INVITATION.

Billy Graham had said two things very clearly. He said that we are all sinners and that God loves us and has provided a way for us to have a relationship with Him.

It was the most simple, sweetest invitation of love and a relationship with God that I had ever heard.       …J. Menges.

Evangelism

“It is not our business to make the message acceptable, but to make it available.  We are not to see that they like it, but that they get it.” – Dr. Vance Havner

“How shall I feel at the judgment, if multitudes of missed opportunities pass before me in full review, and all my excuses prove to be disguises of my cowardice and pride.” – Dr. W. E. Sangster
