Righteousness

Jeremiah 33:16  

In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.’

Jeremiah 50:7  

Whoever found them devoured them; their enemies said, ‘We are not guilty, for they sinned against the LORD, their true pasture, the LORD, the hope of their fathers.’

Jeremiah 51:10  

“‘The LORD has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the LORD our God has done.’

Ezekiel 3:20  

“Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered and I will hold you accountable for his blood.

Ezekiel 14:14  

Even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign LORD.

Ezekiel 18:5  

“Suppose there is a righteous man who does what is just and right.

Ezekiel 18:19 

“Yet you ask, ‘Why does the son not share the guilt of his father?’ Since the son has done what is just and right and has been careful to keep all my decrees, he will surely live.

Ezekiel 18:20  

The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.

Works Matter

 “If people say they have faith, but do nothing, their faith is worth nothing. Can faith like that save them?”  James 2:14
