Don’t please Men

"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." — Matthew 6:1

Compassion is not for personal glory, just as it is not a private internal emotion. Christian compassion must always motivate us to act in the best interest and for the greater good of those in need, without calling attention to ourselves or our sacrifices. God provides what we need to bless others and takes care of the reward when our goal is to please him and to be used by him to bless others who are in need.

Godly Families

. Hospitable family – Acts 16:15

When she and the members of her household  were baptized,  she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

. Witnessing Family – Acts 18:26

He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila  heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.

. God fearing Family – Acts 10:2

He and all his family were devout and God-fearing;  he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.

2 Corinthians 1:9b-10

Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God,  who raises the dead.    He has delivered us from such a deadly peril,  and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope  that he will continue to deliver us
