Know Your Bible - 3

2 Chronicles

14th book of the Bible; 36 chapters; 822 verses; 26074 words; 583 verses of history; 32 verses of fulfilled prophecy.

Ezra

15th book of the Bible; 280 verses; 7441 words; no prophecy; no messages from God; no promises; 9 questions; 43 commands.

Nehemiah

16th book of the Bible; 406 verses; 10483 words; 3 verses of fulfilled prophecy; 3 predictions; 14 commands; no promises; no new messages from God; 24 questions.

Esther

17th book of the Bible; 10 chapters; 167 verses; 5637 words; 11 commands; 21 questions; one prophecy (6:13); no promises; and no distinct message from God.

Job

18th book of the Bible; 10102 words; 1070 verses; 1066 verses of history; 1 verse of fulfilled prophecy; 3 verses unfulfilled prophecy; 329 questions; 13 commands; no promises; 4 predictions; 10 messages from God; it can be seen by this that  there is very little prophecy in the book of Job, as well as only a few messages from God.

The reason is easy to understand. The book is one of many charges and counter charges between men who did their reasoning without consulting God on any matter whatsoever.

 Psalms

19th book of the Bible; 150 chapters; 2461 verses; 43743 words; 2027 verses of history; 160 verses of fulfilled and 274 verses of unfulfilled prophecy; 164 questions; 413 commands; 338 acts of God; 124 vows; 174 statements of praise; 118 complaints; 72 facts about Judas; 865 facts about God; 235 things about God’s word;  182 statements of testimony; 97 promises; 128 facts about Messiah; 281 blessings; 190 facts about the psalmists; 78 acts of the righteous; 101 acts of the wicked; plus 233 sins; 582 requests; and 187 reasons for the requests.

In studying these requests it can be seen how few concern God and His win. Most of them concern’s man and his begging to get out of trouble.
