Be bent on backsliding
Hosea 11:7
My people are determined to turn from me. Even if they call
to the Most High, he will by no means exalt them.
Be healed of backsliding if they will return
Jeremiah 3:22
“Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.”

Have many backslidings

Although our sins testify against us, O LORD, do something
for the sake of your name. For our backsliding is great; we have sinned against
you.
Go backward, not forward
Jeremiah 7:24
But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they
followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and
not forward.
Be assured that God will not forsake them
Deuteronomy 4:31
For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon
or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed
to them by oath.
Hebrews 13:5
