The power of prayer

A woman was saved shortly after her husband’s death, while her children were in their twenties. They were taking drugs and she was tormented with fear because they were all unsaved. It was a great trial to her, especially coming after her husband’s death.

One night as the woman was praying, God spoke to her and said, “Leave your children with Me. It is My will to save them, so stop distressing yourself.” From that night on, the mother never again worried about them. She stopped cooking up schemes to get them saved. She said, “They are God’s problem.” One morning at four o’clock, the mother was startled from sleep by a telephone call. It was her son, who said, “I have heard the voice of God. What should I do?” she led her boy to the Lord.

He became Spirit-filled, attended Bible college, and became an assistant pastor in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today, every member of her family is saved because she allowed God to work in their lives rather than try to save them herself.

If the circumstances looks bad after you pray, hang in there, God will work things out. This mother was patient and waited. She believed God’s promise and received the reward!

The Arms of God

I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God.  Psalm 11:1, The Message

I’ve noticed that those who serve God most joyfully are the ones who know him most personally.  Those who are quickest to speak about Jesus are those who realize how great has been their own redemption.

God is an exalted friend, a Holy Father, an elevated King.  How do we approach him—as king, as father, or as friend?  The answer:  yes! – Max Lucado

Thought

God washes the eyes by tears until they can behold the invisible land where tears shall come no more.
